Astrological advice for David Cameron

If you’ve been following British politics, you’ll know that David Cameron is leader of the British opposition, and that following the General Election on May 6, there’s a good chance that he’ll become Prime Minister. I am not particularly optimistic about the next few years in David Cameron’s life, regardless of whether or not he wins the election. Nonetheless, few things in life are absolutely fated, and I’m now going to write a letter to David Cameron, giving my astrological advice. What I say below does not reflect my political views – I’m just trying to be objective.

Dear Dave,

You’re clearly a nice person, who wants to make everyone happy, and you don’t like conflict for the sake of it. This is because of your star sign, Libra. While it’s true that Librans can be successful in politics, this only happens if they’re tough and uncompromising – which, as far I can see, you’re not.

You’re probably like Jimmy Carter and Ramsay McDonald, both of whom were widely regarded as being political failures. You want to do what’s best, but as every Libran should realise, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Still, you’re determined to be Prime Minister, in which case you’ve got to change your spots, and start emulating the tough kind of Libran, examples of which are Margaret Thatcher and Vladimir Putin. You must avoid compromising and when you see a conflict brewing, you should see it as an opportunity rather than a problem.

So if you decide to slash public spending, and you’re faced with strikes and industrial unrest, you should be happy not troubled. It’s an opportunity to play to the public gallery, and to establish yourself as a tough guy. Remembering that for a Libran, winning battles and making enemies is the essence of being a successful politician.

However there might be one situation where you do have to compromise, and that’s if there’s a hung parliament, where no party has a majority after the General Election. Librans are master-manipulators, and they’re good at making promises that they have no intention of keeping.

You clearly have charisma, and you sound very convincing, and if you’re doing deals with minor parties I’m sure you’ll be effective. But once you’ve got what you want, don’t feel obliged to keep your side of the bargain. As every Libran in politics should know, power is what matters and nothing else.

However my most important piece of advice relates to an 180-degree aspect between Jupiter and Saturn, which is exact in 2010 and 2011. This Jupiter-Saturn opposition is about things splitting apart. Although the global economy is showing signs of improvement, it won’t last forever, and over the next couple of years Europe is going to feel the brunt of it.

Yet if you’re not careful, your own party could split apart – and the reason will be Europe. You have to put your own interests first, and that means taking an anti-Europe stance – that way you’ll keep in touch with your supporters. If on the other hand you do what comes naturally to you, and you try to maintain the status quo, things will go wrong for you very quickly.

The Jupiter-Saturn opposition happens every twenty years, and you should bear in mind that Edward Heath was elected Prime Minister in 1970, when this aspect was likewise operational. As I warned in yesterday’s article, we’re heading for a time when no political party is going to be in power for very long, like the 1970s. So if you become Prime Minister next month, you’re unlikely to be in power for very long, and over the next ten years power will move back and forth between your party and your Labour opponents.

However there is one thing you can do to stop this happening, and it’s about taking advantage of the Jupiter-Saturn opposition. As I said, it’s about splitting, and getting things to split apart will be much easier than usual. Under these circumstances, I would advise you to engineer a break-up of the United Kingdom, in particular to push Scotland towards independence. Thanks to the Jupiter-Saturn opposition, this can definitely be done, and of course if you pull it off Labour will lose all its Scottish seats, and in terms of English politics it will take years to recover, if at all.

Still, I don’t believe that you’ll listen to my advice, and win or lose in May, I think that it’s odds on that you’ll go down as a political failure. The Jupiter-Saturn opposition falls right across your Ascendant, and if you become Prime Minister the pressure is going to be immense.

As far as remedies are concerned, in Hindu astrology you’re in a phase of life ruled by Venus. In your horoscope Venus isn’t very strong and it needs to be strengthened. Especially now, when it’s being transitted by Saturn. You should consider fasting on Fridays, and you should also wear a diamond, because this gemstone has a special connection with Venus.

Anyway, good luck on May 6. For your sake I hope you lose, but if you win, it’s pretty clear what you need to do.
